Lévis: Sustainable Development Strategy and Action Plan

The City of Lévis asked Groupe DDM to create a strategy and sustainable development action plan (SDAP) with the aim of improving its natural, community and economic environment. As part of this task, the company produced a profile and diagnosis based on four interconnected pillars: environment, economy, community life and governance. The City wanted its SDAP to be based not only on the views of its own organization, but also on those of the population. Extensive consultations were therefore held at every stage of the project. The resulting plan proposed a series of actions that combined the different facets of sustainable development and focused on topics as diverse as heat islands, the number and quality of social housing units, and heritage development. The actions in the plan were designed to help achieve the city’s sustainable development vision and provide the population with the best possible living environment, both now and in the future.
