General Plan – Mountains and Hills: Metropolitan Blue and Green Zones

Groupe DDM was asked to prepare a general plan for the hills and mountains in the Metropolitan Community’s territory. The hills and mountains extend from the Laurentians foothills and include the Community’s major natural parks and structural recreational and tourism attractions. The general plan contained detailed information on the areas to be used for new projects. It also proposed the creation of recreational links between elements in the blue and green zones, and protection of natural environments of interest. In addition to this, the plan included implementation methods, as well as short, medium and long-term priorities. It also identified potential partners, provided a budget overview and described the protection and development methods that would be used, including acquisitions, easements and other relevant tools.
