Charest Highway (Highway 440): Levelling, asphalting, marking and other work

Charest Highway (Highway 440) runs through the centre of Québec City and is a major entry and exit route.

Work was carried out on the existing roadway (two to four lanes) over a distance of 4.85 km., and consisted in earthwork, asphalting and marking, in addition to other interventions. Taking place directly on the main eastbound and westbound lanes between Saint-Sacrement Avenue and Robert-Bourassa Highway (Highway 740), it included repairs to the eastbound collector lane for Highway 740 and the ramp from Highway 40 to Henri-IV South Highway (Highway 73).

Groupe Conseil CHG’s role was to coordinate the work: supervision, traffic management and liaison between the onsite stakeholders (quality control, environment, supervisor and contractor). The various stages of project closure were also verified.
